Brooke Lehman (she/they) has been active as an organizer and educator in NYC since the mid 80s.
She was a founding member of the Direct Action Network in the late ‘90s, Bluestockings Bookstore, and the Solidaire Network. Brooke serves on the board and faculty of the Institute for Social Ecology as well as the board of the Schumacher Center for New Economics. Brooke is the Co-Director of The Watershed Center, a retreat center for social justice groups in Millerton NY, where she leads workshops and consultations on generative communication, embodied leadership, nonviolent direct action, and organizational development. She is currently developing a restorative retreat for folks supporting loved ones through illness and death.
